Dernier volet de la trilogie de l’intégrale des concertos et trios de Schumann, cet enregistrement fait ici la part belle au violoncelle de Jean-Guihen Queyras. Publié tardivement, le concerto, pourtant énergiquement défendu par Clara Schumann, ne fut créé qu’après la mort du compositeur. Interprété dans le même esprit poétique que les deux autres, ce troisième volume clôt une aventure qui aura à jamais changé notre écoute de l’œuvre de l’œuvre de Schumann.

The Cello Concerto, though energetically championed by Clara Schumann, suffered from delays in publication and was not premiered until after the composer’s death.
